Shahd Al-Joundi
Shahd Al-Joundi is a Syrian
artist celebrated for her expressive, emotionally charged visual works that
blend abstract, surreal, and visceral elements. Her practice explores
psychological and personal themes through bold lines, vivid colors, and
spontaneous brushstrokes, creating layered compositions that evoke movement and
intensity. Influenced by expressionism and driven by a spontaneous creative
process, Shahd employs mixed media techniques to craft textured works that
invite viewers into immersive emotional and sensory experiences.
Since graduating from the
Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus in 2014, Shahd has
participated in numerous international exhibitions, including group shows at
Atelier in Italy (2025), Zawaya Art Gallery in Damascus (2024), and The Artery
in Worcester, UK (2023), as well as a solo exhibition at The Barn in Ledbury,
UK (2023). Her work continues to resonate with audiences and collectors alike,
offering a profound visual language that explores identity, memory, and the
human condition.
