Mohannad
Al-Sarea is a Syrian artist based in Damascus whose expressive abstract
paintings, often bearing expressionist qualities, have garnered international
attention. He explores themes of identity, memory, and the human condition
through vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. Al-Saria's distinctive style
blends abstraction with figurative elements.
His
academic background includes a Bachelor's degree (2013-2017), a Master's degree
(2019-2021) with a thesis on "Aesthetic Values in the Paintings of the
Artist Ali Al-Sarmini," and current PhD studies (2023-present), all from
Damascus University. He also holds a certificate in developing children's
talents through visual art (2016-2018) and previously worked as a technical
supervisor in that field.
Al-Sarea's
work has been recognized through various exhibitions, and he was awarded First
Prize at the Annual Spring Exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Culture in
Damascus in 2021. He was selected to participate in the prestigious Bonhams
auction in London (May 2024).
