Ammar
Alshawa's artworks, primarily created using oil and acrylic on canvas, exhibit a vibrant and expressive style,
often characterized by rich and varied color palettes that lend a dreamlike or
ethereal quality to his compositions.
His approach often blends
figurative elements with expressive abstraction. While clear subjects like
human figures and birds are present, they are frequently set within richly
textured and layered backgrounds, creating a sense of both reality and
imagination. Birds appear to be a recurring motif,
depicted in various poses within natural or abstract settings, suggesting
themes of freedom or contemplation. Other works
feature focused still-life arrangements, such as dice and teacups, possibly
hinting at chance or quiet moments.
Alshawa's use of color is
diverse, ranging from warm oranges and yellows to cool blues and purples. He
employs varied textures, from thick impasto or layered effects to smoother
finishes, which contribute to the visual depth and emotional resonance of his
pieces. The abstract backgrounds, with their splashes, strokes, and gradients
of color, create an energetic or atmospheric feel, allowing the viewer's eye to
explore the different layers of the painting. This interplay of color, texture,
and compositional variety results in visually engaging works that invite
interpretation and evoke a sense of vibrancy and contemplation.
